# Earmix for teams

For companies and teams who want to give Earmix to their people.

## How licensing works

Each licence is one payment, with no subscription, and covers one Mac at a time, so buy one for each person. There's no seat management and no account to set up. When someone changes Macs, they deactivate Earmix in its settings and activate it on the new one.

Everyone can try every feature free for 14 days first, with no account and no card.

## For your IT team

- Delivered as a notarized DMG, signed with an Apple Developer ID. Universal: Apple silicon and Intel.

- Needs macOS 14.2 Sonoma or later.

- Needs one permission, which macOS calls **System Audio Recording**. Earmix uses it to adjust each app's sound before it plays. It records nothing unless the person presses Record.

- Optional permissions: Accessibility, only if someone wants the volume keys to work on an HDMI or DisplayPort screen or to control one app; and the microphone, only to record a call with their own voice.

- Apps that nobody adjusts take the normal macOS audio path. If Earmix quits, every app goes straight back to normal.

- Needs to reach Dodo Payments for licence checks, about once a day. It keeps working offline for 14 days.

## Audio and data

- All audio is processed on the Mac, in real time. Nothing is uploaded.

- No analytics, no crash reports and no account. The only network requests are licence checks and update checks.

- Recordings are saved on the Mac, in Music › Earmix Recordings. Remind your people that recording a call may need everyone's consent where they are.

- The iPhone remote is off until someone turns it on, answers only on the local network, and needs the private code from its pairing QR code.

- The Earmix Tabs browser extension sends tab titles and addresses only to Earmix on the same Mac, through the browser's native messaging.

Dodo Payments is our merchant of record and provides a tax invoice for each purchase. Every purchase has a 14-day refund.
